About Us

Quite simply, On My DVR is a website devoted to all things TV. At On My DVR, we watch TV so you don’t have to!

Your Contributors

TV Watcher: I was raised, nurtured and educated by television. A native of NYC (who now lives in the country), I am a sarcastic, jaded human being; the type of person you are fast friends with and then regret that decision later. I am a pop-culture junkie with TV as my epicenter of consumption; I will watch anything and everything. Thanks to my young son, I no longer sleep. The upside of insomnia is that I have found that I can fit that many more hours of television into my life. I will invariably reference movies, music, books and general celebritiness into my posts but my point of reference will almost always come back to TV. I hope you enjoy the ride into my television point of view and I promise that if you don’t find me entertaining … its squarely your fault.

Blah Blah Blogger: I consider myself a true TV-aholic and make no apologies for that fact. I am lucky I found a man with the same affliction with which to share my life. The television comes on from the moment my feet hit the floor each morning and remains on until heads are falling onto the pillows every night. My tastes fit into no particular category, running from the crudely absurd It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia to the more refined Masterpiece Theater, with a lot of anything and everything in between. The only thing I ask of you is that you don’t ask me to do reality TV. Sorry, but I cannot bear the thought of watching a grown woman cry her eyes out simply because she didn’t get a rose from a guy she knows is her soulmate, who, by the way, she met only a few hours earlier.

Planning the weekly shuffle of what to watch live and what to DVR sometimes requires the aid of a spreadsheet, but the thought of going back to life without DVRs makes me want to weep. That is a world in which I don’t want to live. I look forward to sharing my viewing habits with you and hearing about yours as well.

Standing Blogger: I could not survive without DVR. I currently have 4 DVR boxes in my house and I find that it’s never enough. On occasion, you might find a post from me on a show I watched live, but that is very rare indeed. If you’re looking for a show that I usually blog about and I haven’t mentioned it within a day or two of its airing, by the end of the week, I will have usually caught up with everything. One confession, other than weight loss shows, you will not find any postings on reality TV from me. I much prefer scripted drama and comedies (although at this point dramedies are more my balliwick than normal comedies, with the exception of How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory, if I can ever catch up to the current season). Those who know me think it’s strange that I watch most of my shows while standing up in my kitchen. Just a little insight into my life! Happy reading!
