Friday, August 3, 2012, 1:20pm (EST) Without gymnastics, the morning and afternoon sessions have been a sleepy affair for high stakes American activities. In fact, Team USA has not won a medal yet today. Stay tuned for Update 2 after the Swimming finals. In the only American highlight so far today, Team USA’s women’s soccer defeated New Zealand by a score of 2-0.

Friday, August 3, 2012 As we end our time in the pool and the gym, we begin our time on the track where the balance of the Olympics will play out in the next 11 days. We will have the first two medal events in Track & Field today with Men’s Shotput and Women’s 10,000m final but there will be a host of qualification and prelim rounds in all variations of track events going on throughout the day. Before we leave the pool for good, we’ll still get to see Phelps in another gold medal opportunity in the 100m Butterfly. Certain sports are not being televised; in such a case, we have directed you to NBC’s live web streaming service.
