Calling London, Going For Gold! (NBC)

Welcome to Day 12 0f On My DVR’s coverage of the XXX Olympiad!

We will endeavor to bring you all of the news you care about on as real time a basis as life allows (so check back often each day!) including details on where you can catch the best events and the medal count because everyone cares about who brings home the gold!

UPDATED FOR RESULTS …

Wednesday, August 8, 2012 Team USA had a great day on the track winning 3 of 4 gold medals available today and 7 of the total 12 medals handed out (see details below). Elsewhere, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings defeated USA teammates April Ross and Jen Kessy, for their third consecutive gold medal in Women’s Beach Volleyball (and Treanor’s last, allegedly) and Men’s Basketball advanced through their quarterfinal with their win over Australia. Men’s Water Polo wasn’t as lucky, losing to Croatia 8-2 and being eliminated from the pool. The surprise USA medal of the day, at least to me anyway, came in the Women’s Wrestling, 48kg Freestyle with Clarissa Chun pulling in the second bronze! In the medal count, USA has opened up a 4 medal lead on China but is still behind 2 gold medals.

Wednesday, August 8, 2012 Overall, it’ll be a quiet day at the Olympics although a highlight event today certainly has to be the USA v USA Women’s Beach Volleyball Gold medal Match when April Ross and Jen Kessy try to unseat Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings. Aslo, we have the start of Tae Kwon Do with two medal rounds in the lighter fight classes and lots of good track & field action throughout the day. Certain sports are not being televised; in such a case, we have directed you to NBC’s live web streaming service.
