Calling London, Going For Gold! (NBC)

Welcome to Day 10 0f On My DVR’s coverage of the XXX Olympiad!

We will endeavor to bring you all of the news you care about on as real time a basis as life allows (so check back often each day!) including details on where you can catch the best events and the medal count because everyone cares about who brings home the gold!

UPDATED FOR RESULTS …

Monday, August 6, 2012, 11pm (EST) Women’s Boxing is making its debut at these Summer Games and already popular USA figure, Marlen Esparza, defeated Venezuela’s Karlha Magliocco in her first match! In Women’s Soccer, Team USA defeated Canada 4-3 and advanced to the gold medal match against Japan! In Women’s Pole Vault, in a rare feat for Day 10, American Jenn Suhr took home the gold. In the Men’s 400m, a race where American Michael Johnson holds the record, not one American was in the final.  Out of the three Americans in the Men’s 400m Hurdles, only Michael Tinsley was able to medal, taking home the silver and setting a personal best for himself. In the Women’s Steeplechase, neither of the two Americans were able to medal. Everything you need to know can be summed up thusly – there is not one photo of an American in the “Best of Day 10″ photo album on the Olympics website.

Monday, August 6, 2012, 1pm (EST) In a surprise to no one, Aliya Mustafina of Russia came in first in the Women’s Uneven Bars final but shocking, All Around Gold medal Winner, Gabby Douglas came in dead last. Tough day for Team USA. Other than Matt Emmons’ Bronze in 50m Rifle, 3 Positions, Team USA was shut out of the medals this morning and afternoon. Tonight has some exciting track & Field events, lets see if we can get back on track (pun totally intended)!

Monday, August 6, 2012 The second to last day of Gymnastics happens with Team USA competing on Men’s Vault (Sam Mikulak) and Women’s Uneven Bars (Gabby Douglas). On the track, Team USA is looking to medal in Women’s Pole Vault (Jenn Suhr and Becky Holliday); Women’s Shotput (Jillian Camarena-Williams, Tia Brooks and Michelle Carter); Men’s 400m Hurdles (Kerron Clement, Angelo Taylor and Michael Tinsley); and Women’s Steeplechase (Emma Coburn and Bridget Franek). Elsewhere, Team USA’s Men’s Basketball goes for another win, this time over Argentina as pool play comes to an end and Men’s Diving 3m Springboard will be a hit of the night broadcast coverage. Certain sports are not being televised; in such a case, we have directed you to NBC’s live web streaming service.
