1.  TV Tonight! There is a buzzy premiere on NBC with Saving Hope and Fox debuts some bottom denominator-sounding reality shows but my money is on Breaking Pointe for the main attraction tonight!

  • NBC has the buzzy pilot for Saving Hope at 9 followed by a new Rock Bottom Center at 10.
  • Fox premieres two romance-twinged Summer reality shows tonight with George Lopez helping 30 women find love on Take Me Out at 8 and Cat Deeley (lord knows, I LOVE me some Cat Deeley but I just can’t get behind this show) helping “celebrities” (in the Dancing with the Stars sense, i.e., fairly C and D listers) get dates on The Choice at 8:58.
  • ABC has another two hours of the snoozefest, Duets, from 8-10 followed by Rookie Blue at 10.
  • CW has the second installment of the best new Summer show so far, Breaking Pointe, at 8 (read my Keep or Delete Review here).
  • On cable, A&E has a new The First 48 at 9 followed by the premiere of Cajun Justice at 10 and 10:30 (which has too good a title to not watch); Food Network has the season finale of Sweet Genius at 10; and VH-1 has Yo: The Story of Yo! MTV Rapsat 10 if you’re feeling nostalgic.

2.  The Television Critics Association Award Nominations are out and like the Critics’ Choice Award Nominations earlier this week, the TCA has done a better job than the Emmy’s ever would in picking selections.

3.  The Island has moved to Showtime.  In other LOST news, did you see the show was nominated for a Heritage Award by the TCA? Crazy.

4.  CW Summer Lineup Part Deux.  The CW has announced the premiere dates for the rest of its Summer show, The L.A. Complex (Season 2), Oh Sit!, and The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep.

5.  CMT Music Award Results. If you’re into that kind of thing.

6.  TNT Shows.  Don’t think you’ll be able to get enough of TNT’s Dallas reboot or Falling Skies, Season 2?  The cable channel announced yesterday that it will air web series follow-ups after each show. Details here.
