Welcome to the penultimate day of May, where the news is slow and TV is not terribly interesting.  Should anything interesting happen, please Like us Facebook  and follow us on Twitter (@OnMYDVR) and you’ll be one of the first people to know about it!

1.  TV Tonight! Hockey?  Dancing? Hatfields & McCoys? these are your choices tonight.

  • CBS premieres its newest Summer reality show, Dogs in the City, at 8 which I don’t know, it sounds dumb.
  • NBC has Game 1 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Final (LA Kings at the New Jersey Devils) from 8-11.
  • Fox is the winner tonight with Auditions 2 of So You Think You Can Dance from 8-10.
  • CW has the season (but unfortunately, not the series) finale of America’s Next Top Model at 9.
  • On cable, ABC Family premieres the new season of Melissa & Joey with two new episodes at 8 and 8:30; History concludes its 3 part miniseries of Hatfields & McCoys from 9-11; and TV Land says goodbye to Hot in Cleveland and Happily Divorcedat 10 and 10:30, respectively.

2.  Private Practice News.  Tim Daly announced on his Twitter feed last night that Shonda Rhimes told him he was not coming back for the sixth (and final?) season of Private Practice.  He seems a bit bitter: “… Shonda informed my agent today that Pete won’t be returning for season 6. It was a great 5 yrs. R.I.P. Pete Wilder”

3.  Yes, More Competitive Singing Shows Please! C’mon NBC, overkill much?

4.  TV Gods Make This Happen and Build Us a Dog Pound!!!

5.  The Newest True Blood trailer for season 5 (which aired before last week’s Game of Thrones):
